Here is the movie poster for the film 'American Gangster.' I really like this poster and as it stand I will probably base my movie poster on this one. This is because I like how dark and mysterious the poster is not giving to much away about the film but letting the audience figure out certain things about the characters. This is because by putting one of the characters in a black suit and the other one in a white suit it shows that they are the complete opposite of each other as black and white are seen as opposites. Therefore this is an effect I could use with Poezzi and Castro as they are the complete opposite. Both colors also conoates power but differently with white seen as good power and black seen as bad, so the poster shows the audience an insight into the characters. Also by only showing the bottom half of their face it makes the audience think as they will wonder why this was done thus making them want to see the film. Finally as a gun is clearly visible it shows the audience that the film will contain action in it thus getting the audience excited about the film. I think that I will use a gun prop in my poster to also imply that there is action in my movie but also to show the audience the threat Castro poses to Poezzi. Overall this is a very dark and powerful poster and like I said previously, as it stands I will be using a lot of this in my movie poster.
